We are proud to offer our moms the option of having their placenta encapsulated after birth!
What is it?
The placenta is responsible for carrying nutrients, blood, and oxygen to your baby throughout pregnancy. The traditional course of placenta encapsulation is the process of gently steaming, dehydrating, and grinding your placenta and placing it into capsules for you to take throughout the weeks after delivery. This is done in a sterile environment by a trained placenta specialist.
Why do people do it?
The placenta contains large amounts of iron and many extremely beneficial hormones that leave the body as soon as the baby is born. There are numerous medical research studies that show the benefits of placenta supplementation after birth. Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well, has proven for many centuries that the process of encapsulation is beneficial in many ways to new mothers. Many mothers are choosing this more natural way of restoring their body’s hormone and iron levels after birth.
Here are some of the reported benefits of placenta encapsulation:
-Increased milk production
-Boosted energy levels
-Absorb-able iron source -Increased release of the hormone Oxytocin, which can lessen the time of postpartum bleeding -Many mothers report a decrease in postpartum depression and a more stable mood after birth
